I had my first wedding gig in St. Louis, so I decided I was going to make a weekend getaway out of it. Never had been to St. Louis before this so I was definitely looking forward to it.
The Gateway Arch
I went to see the iconic Gateway Arch! Definitely a must-stop to see it up close. It's nuts how tall it actually is when looking up to it (630ft!). It was designed by Finnish-American architect Eero Saarinen and was opened to the public in 1967. I believe there are elevators that takes you up to the middle where there is an observation area and a museum. Unfortunately at the time of taking the photo, they were doing construction on the base of the arch and therefore the access to the inside of it was closed off to the public. Maybe next time!
Other Cool Things I Did There:
I stayed at a cool little Airbnb in the historical and very artsy Soulard District.
Checked out the nightlife at the Busch Stadium.
Walked around the Missouri Botanical Gardens. They had an awesome Japanese Garden section! Few pics below.
I didn't get a chance to take many photos of the actual wedding gig itself, but I did upload a few to my Instagram. You can check them out here, here, and here! :)
